Alex Jr. Bath Toy

I absolutely love this toy, and Victoria does too! She giggles and stomps her feet with excitement when she sees it. This is a wonderful wind up toy that when placed in the water the lobster tail flaps around moving in the water. She loves playing with it so much. We also take this to the pool as well! It is extremely affordable and gender neutral! You can find it at www.alextoys.com for $5.95.

Smart Trike 3 In 1 Trike

Helloooo Mommies!  Sorry we have taken a break on the blog but it has been quite a busy spring and summer.  We have had lots of fun in the sun with our girls.  They both celebrated their first birthday and are constantly doing new things each week.   Needless to say, we are going to try to get back on track and share our fabulous finds with all of you.

As a first birthday gift, Hannah and Victoria both received this great trike by Smart Trike.  This tricycle gives babies from 10 months on a trustable way of traveling from the early baby ages and grows with the child to the age of 3 years plus.  The Smart Trike is equipped with an adjustable telescopic 5-position steering handle that allows the parent to take control of the trike while the child is learning to ride. It also includes a bottle holder and play phone for the child's amusement.  The trike includes a washable, quality seat cover and a useful bag attached to the steering handle.

When comparing other 3 in 1 trikes, I liked this one most because of the durable wheels.  This is the only one that has wheels made of rubber and not plastic.  I also love the adjustable shade that this trike model offers.  I know we will eventually have more kids so we went ahead and spent more money initially knowing that this model will last longer than the less expensive models.  We travel with this trike frequently and it fits well in the back of our SUV.

The Smart Trike is available at toysrus.com for $129.99.  We have the lady bug version and love it.

The Happiest Baby on the Block

I just got home from spending the weekend with my best friend from college.   I was visiting her for her baby shower.  As we talked during the weekend I recalled this fabulous find for first time parents. This DVD offers great tips for soothing a fussy baby.  If you need a gift for first time parents, this is one that will surely be beneficial.  My husband and I used the techniques from the video and they worked effortlessly.  The video is only 35-40 minutes long and walks you through the steps needed to soothe your baby in minutes.  This is also available in a book as well.  I recommend checking your public library for the video first or using netflix.  The video is available at amazon.com for $17.99.

Little Scolastic Puppet Book

Victoria just loves this little puppet book! She will start to giggle and laugh as soon as I pull it out of her diaper bag. Again, this is such a wonderful "tool" to have as a mom when travelling. If she is fussy, then I can use this to distract her and she begins to have fun again. She loves to turn the little pages. It is a miniature board book, and the puppet is large enough to fit Daddy's hands as well. Little Scholastic makes other stories as well. You can find this at www.amazon.com for $9.35.

VTech Splash and Learn Duck

If you are looking for a fabulous bath toy that is fun and educational, then look no more. I love this toy from vtech...it's actually one that I can figure out easily! This little duck is water activated, and it moves around in the water while playing music and lighting up. Victoria loves bath time, and this toy especially! You can find it at Babies R Us for $9.99.

Phonics Bus By Leap Frog

While I was at ToysRus this weekend I came across this great toy.  I have been on the lookout for great educational toys and I think this is one of them.  We have only had this for less than 24 hours and Hannah already loves it.  I think this will be a toy that she will like to play with for a long time to come and the best part is, is that it is educational.

This toy allows little ones to discover the entire alphabet through easy-press letters, 26 learning songs and fun, removable characters that encourage open-ended, imaginative play. With 3 modes of play, toddlers are introduced to letter names, letter sounds and songs that combine letter names with sounds and the "ABC" song. But wait, there's more! Add the characters in and toddlers will be introduced to 3 versions of the "Wheels on the bus" song, 3 raps that encourage physical movement and 3 different instrumental sounds. With letters, characters and fun learning songs this portable bus will be a delight for all!   The bus is age appropriate for 12 months old to 4 years.

This toy is available at http://www.toysrus.com for $19.99.

Leap Frog Learn and Groove Music Table

There are so many toy options out there for you to choose. I always try to find an economical option for toys because it seems that Victoria looses interest after a few weeks. Well not so with this toy. She has been playing with this toy since she was 5 months old, and she still loves it! She will crawl up to it, and get so excited as she plays with it. It's as if she is playing with it for the first time. So if you are looking for a toy that will last, provide educational benefit, and entertain your little one, then this is the toy for you. It is not a cheap toy, but I feel that this toy is worth the investment. You can find it at Toys R Us for $44.99.

Fisher Price Silly Town

A friend of ours got this toy out for Victoria at a playdate she hosted. Victoria really enjoyed it, and a few weeks later I found the toy at a wonderful price. When we got home, and I opened the toy to set it up for Victoria, her eyes lit up! She absolutely loves playing with this toy. Since playing with this toy Victoria has learned "to dance." It is so hilarious that my husband and I still get tickled watching her play with it. This toy can be found right now at Toys R Us on clearance for $20.98....an absolutely fabulous price as well!

BABYBJÖRN Soft Bib

Okay...so another fabulous find from my sister-in-law.  We love this bib!  At first I was not using it a whole lot  since Hannah was so small and the bib was a bit bulky on her, but now that she is getting bigger this bib is the greatest.  This bib is made of safe, high-quality PVC-free, BPA-free plastic that retains its shape while staying flexible enough for comfortable wear.  The bib attaches by snapping together and is adjustable so the bib is able to grow with your child.   The  deep, wide front pocket catches food before it becomes a mess.  Now that Hannah is feeding herself more, she is able to dig into the pocket and retrieve her dropped food.  It is so cute to watch her do this.  On a grosser note, it is also great on the occasion when your child gags on a piece of food and ends up throwing up....the pocket catches it all and makes clean up much easier.  The bib cleans up quickly with soap and water.  I highly recommend this bib for all feeding occasions.

This bib is available at amazon.com for $9.95.

Parking Pal Magnet

Check out this fabulous find!  I heard about these first from my sister-in-law, Shannon, and then saw them on another website.  The purpose of the parking pal magnet is to help busy parents keep their child out of harm's way while tending to other tasks in the parking lot.

Loading or unloading packages, rifling for keys, or tending to the baby, parents can take precious attention away from our children, leaving them vulnerable to a number of dangerous situations. Other drivers can't see when they back up because the car next to them is too large or they're distracted by their cell phones, or blind spots make it easy for them to overlook small children who may be behind them. And children, well, they don't always do what they're told or stay where they should. It only takes one second for tragedy to strike.

To use the magnet place the Parking Pal on the side of your vehicle, where it will remain safely attached at all times. It was specifically designed with bright colors, playful illustrations, and a small palm children love to place their hands on. After a couple learning sessions, your child will discover that the Parking Pal is their safe spot, and they will know where to go the second they are outside the car. It also helps teach them that parking lots are no place to play.

The parking pal magnets come in a variety of styles.  Check out the website at http://www.parkingpalmagnet.com/ for all styles.  The parking pal magnet is $7.99.

Dot & Stripe Chamois Stroller Blanket from Pottery Barn

Incredibly plush and oh so soft!  We love our stroller blanket from Pottery Barn Kids.  This is a great gift for any new baby.  The blankets are so soft and hold up wash after wash.  The blankets are 30"x 40".  This blanket is $39.00 and can be personalized for an additional $7.00.

We also love these blankets too, which are $29.00 from Pottery Barn Kids.   These blankets are available in ivory, pink, blue, lavender, green and bright pink.

Sassy Touch & Talk Laptop

I cannot say enough great things about this toy! I found this toy when Victoria was only 3 months old thinking that it would be great to promote tummy time. It worked wonderfully for that, but now she continues to enjoy it. It has three different modes: musical notes, rhymes, and colors in English and Spanish. Each button plays a different sound depending upon the mode it is in. Victoria also loves to look at herself in the mirror and give herself kisses! It is so hilarious to watch. It folds up nicely like a real laptop does! Totally a fabulous find! You can find this toy at www.walmart.com for $12.56. It can also be found at Kohl's, but it is higher in price.

Leap Frog Shapes & Sharing Picnic Basket

This was a gift that a dear friend gave to Victoria recently, and Victoria absolutely loves this toy. She enjoys taking the different objects out of the basket, and the picnic basket teaches sounds, shapes, and colors. It also plays music as well. This will be a wonderful toy that will "grow" with Victoria as she learns more and more about what it says and does. I highly recommend this toy! You can purchase it at Toys R Us for $21.99.

LeapFrog Fridge Farm

"You put a cow in the front, you put a duck in the back.  You get a cow, duck!"  These are the words I usually hear in my kitchen.  Hannah rarely makes a match at this point.  We love this toy and use it daily.  This toy keeps Hannah occupied while we eat dinners most evenings and any time I am working in the kitchen.  The toy is great because it teaches kids all about animals, as it plays learning songs, fun facts, and animal sounds. Toddlers can make up to 25 combinations with this magnetic puzzle, and it can be played with on the refrigerator or floor.   Hannah loves the music that plays from the fridge farm too.  She usually sits clapping as the music plays.  She is a fan of all 5 of Farmer Tad's banjo tunes.

The toy's resilient construction withstands wear and tear and holds up nicely to rough child play.  Hannah manages to pull it of the refrigerator multiple times a day and the toy still looks brand new.  With this toy's open-ended format toddlers can create any hilarious combination they choose. It features a lightweight construction so the child can carry the fun from room to room. A handy volume switch keeps the music at an enjoyable level. This toy is easy for little fingers to manage and convenient for parents to store. It requires three AAA batteries (included).

This toy is available at http://www.amazon.com for $15.38.

Sounds Like Learning CD

I absolutely love this CD by Discovery Toys! It has 20 quiet time songs that teach the alphabet, manners, Spanish, and many other early learning skills. I use this CD in the car and at home throughout the day. It is a wonderful transition into nap time, and each song is very unique. If Victoria is fussy, I can play this CD and she will quickly calm down. This is definitely not the average childrens' CD! I absolutely love it! You can purchase this CD through Discovery toys for $15.00 at www.discoverytoys.com.

The Sassy Xylophone

This a super fabulous little toy that is so great for when you are at home or on the go. Victoria started playing with this around 5 months, and she still enjoys it...although now she will move onto another toy rather quickly! Each "key" plays a different little tune once pressed, and each one also has varying textures for your little one to explore. The multi-colored rings on the black and white handle make a fun little noise when shaken. Victoria will still giggle at this. It can be found at www.toysrus.com for only $6.99.

ImagiPLAY Snail Puzzle

This is such a wonderful children's toy. My 4 and 6 year old neighbors absolutely love this puzzle. Victoria has fun with it as well seeing the colors and banging the different pieces together. It is a unique puzzle with vibrant colors, and as you can see it also teaches numbers as well. It is completely made from wood, and it is eco-friendly and non-toxic. This would be a great registry item or gift for that special someone. You can find it at www.amazon.com for $13.80.
